The little old lady and woman on the shelf...

Between a number of high pressured corporate theatre rehearsals, an animated movie, my sister buying a house up the road... today there was a small crack in the day where I made two finger puppets. I made two old ladies... must be something lingering in the back of my mind that longs for short term memory... knitting... history...

Pic of the year 2009

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone - and we're into 2010! 2010 - South Africa - Soccer - Work work work - write - go to the gym you lazy thing - yoga - yes yoga - sunblock. Mmm. So Chirstmas went off rather well - lots of cheer, bubbly, gift giving, gift getting. New Years at home in our lovely garden with giant sparklers pointed up to the star lit and fantastically blue night sky to wish upon a Blue Moon. Jack wins coolest wish - to be a champion knife thrower and to go to Egypt and to buy a funky necklace whilst there - now it's over to the universe - lets see what you come back with. As is tradition we chose our favourite pics for 2009 - to be famed and hung in the passage - as well as entered our submission for pic of the year.... these are the contenders...

Family Portrait by Jack - we walk Lulu (the dog obviously) at Emmerencia Park. On this day, Jack had his camera and very carefully balanced it on a concrete bin and hit the timer - whist we were all waiting and smiling Lulu went to sniff the camera - and snap.

Jack in the flowers by Amelia - this was runner up with one vote. We took Nicks mum who was out here for a month from England to the Cradle restaurant - very near to the Cradle of humankind... we ate far to much fantastic food in what is a most beautiful place - and only 30mins from Johannesburg.

Amelia by Nick - looking as beautiful as ever on the outside furniture having set the table for Christmas dinner.

Nick preparing to dive by Jenine - and the winner by 3 votes! It reminds me of a Wes Anderson movie - this one gets to be in it's own big frame. Happy 2010.
